Beşiktaş 96, Botaşspor 83

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball whips Botaşspor, 96-83, at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena in Week 16 of the TBBL.

After swapping baskets in the early going, the visiting side Botaşspor eventually took control and opened up an 11-point lead at the halfway mark on back-to-back jumpers by Gülşah and Walker scored from inside and out. But, thanks to a series of fast-break points, the Black and White unleashed an 8-0 run in the closing stages and pulled within 22-19 heading into second quarter
Playing much better defense, Beşiktaş Cola Turka managed to keep its visitors away from the basket in the second frame and was able to gain the upper hand; as the unstoppable pair of Hornbuckle and Branzova started pouring it in from allover  the court. The Lady Black and White carried an impressive 46-35 cushion into the half.
The visitors pushed real hard to close the gap in the third; but had no answer for hot-shooting Hornbuckle and her company, who kept the Black and White safely ahead throughout the stanza. It was 62-54 for Beşiktaş Cola Turka after three quarters of play.
Staked to a comfortable lead, the home team continued to dominate in the final frame and never let the visiting side get closer than 10 points. After holding off a late Botaşspor rally, Naile and Cohen stepped up and hit consecutive jumpers down the stretch to give Beşiktaş Cola Turka a well-deserved 96-83 victory.
Beşiktaş’s Hornbuckle and Botaşspor’s Gülşah each scored a game-high 23 points.
