Beşiktaş Cola Turka 82, Efes Pisen 94

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s basketball falls, 94-82, to visiting Efes Pilsen at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena in a Week 19 game of the Beko Basketball League.

Starting the game with a lineup consisting of Chatman, Baxter, Muratcan, Cevher and Wesson, the Black and White had trouble finding its offensive rhythm early on and trailed 9-0 after three minutes. However, from that moment on, Beşiktaş Cola Turka showed some signs of life; as Chatman and Baxter tightened up on defense to prevent visitors from getting easy baskets. Then, Haluk Yıldırım started hitting his outside shots in a late 10-0 spurt and brought his team within 26-25 to end the first quarter.
However, the League-Leading Efes Pilsen would regroup in the second frame and extend their one-point advantage to 10 at 35-25 midway through the quarter. The blue and white visitors continued to pad their lead during the remainder of the quarter and went into the locker room with a 54-34 cushion at the halftime break.
The Black and White, however, exploded out of the gates in the third with a 12-0 run that narrowed the gap to 8 points. But Efes Pilsen refused to get caught; as Kasun and Kerem Tunçeri teamed up to make consecutive layups in the dying minutes and gave their team a 75-64 advantage going into the fourth frame.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka did everything to pull within striking distance in the final quarter but got no closer than 6 points; as the visitors emerged with a convincing 94-82 road victory.
