Beşiktaş were held to a 1-1 draw against Trabzonspor at BJK Inönü Stadium on Matchday 20 of the Turkcell Super League.

Before the kickoff, a one- minute silence was observed in memory of Turkish Football Federation’s Deputy Board Member Mr Celal Birsen, who lost his life in a traffic accident few days ago.
The early minutes of this critical derby were mainly played in midfield with both teams trying hard to gain the upper hand without much success. As the game progressed, the Black and White tried to apply pressure from the flanks; but Trabzonspor preferred to stay in their own half of the field and relied mostly on fast counterattacks initiated by Yattara. However, neither side looked threatening in the first 30 minutes. Then, during a sudden Trabzonspor attack, Gökhan Unal got a pass from Cale behind Beşiktaş defense with no one to beat but the goalkeeper Rüştü and put his team ahead, 1-0, entering the final 15 minutes of the first half. After the goal, Beşiktaş pushed forward to level the score but could not get that crucial equalizer past Goalkeeper Silva; as the visitors carried a one-goal lead into halftime.
At the start of the second half, Beşiktaş Technical Staff brought on Delgado and Bobo for extra men up front. The strategy worked; and the visitors were imprisoned into their own box. But the Black and White had to wait until the 77th minute to level the game. Bobo, who had been giving a lot of headaches to Trabzonspor defense since his entry, headed in a corner kick taken from left flank and brought the teams on equal terms. Although, the visitors came out of their shelves in the closing stages, the score did not change, and the teams walked away with a 1-1 draw.
