The Black and White, who had won the first leg 2-0 last week in Antalya, cruised to 3-1 victory in the rematch with goals from Bobo(3), İbrahim Üzülmez (15) and Serdar Özkan (36) to advance to the Semifinals of the FortisTurkish Cup.
The game was played at BJK İnönü Stadium and refereed by Bülent Yıldırm. A boisterous group of Beşiktaş supporters cheered their team from start to finish.Beşiktaş’s starting lineup included the newly signed German international Fabian Ernest, who was making his debut for the Black and White.
Beşiktaş was awarded a penalty kick as early as the third minute when Uğur Kavuk, the Captain of Antalyaspor, handled the ball on the goal line. Bobo converted the penalty and put his team up 1-0. The Black and White continued to press forward after the goal and went further ahead on the15th minute of the match with defender İbrahim Üzülmez’s superb drive. But the visitors pulled a goal back three minutes later through Ahmet Kuru’s header. Nevertheless, Serdar Özkan looped the ball over the keeper in the 36th minute and restored his side’s two-goal advantage. The Black and White were holding a commanding 3-1 lead after first 45 minutes.
Throughout the second half, our boys did not take their foot off the pressure pedal and kept searching for a fourth goal. In the 65th minute, Cisse replaced Fabian Ernst, who left the pitch to the warm applause from the home fans. The late substitutions of Tello and Yusuf Şimşek for Serdar Özkan and Holosko (got injured in the 77th minute) did not change the course of the game and the Black and White cruised into the semifinals of the Fortis Turkish Cup with a well-deserved 3-1 win.
