In a statement delivered to Istanbul Stocks Exchange, Beşiktaş Football Investments Industrial and Commercial Co. announced the signing of Fabian Ernst from German first division club Shalke 04 to a 2.5- year contract.
The German football player came to Atatürk Airport by a private plane together with our president Yıldırım Demirören and our secretary general Kenan Öner.The statement reads as follows:
‘‘In order to cancel Fabian Ernst’s current contract with Shalke 04, a total of € 3,000,000 shall be paid to German Club in two installments. While Shalke 04 shall receive the first installment of €1,500,000 on October 15, 2009, the remaining amount shall be paid out on February 15, 2010.
According to the terms of the deal, Fabian Ernst shall get €500,000 for the 2008-09 season. In 2009-10 season, he shall be paid €2,000,000 plus a €1,000,000 bonus on September 25, 2009. The player shall receive €2,000,000 for 2010-11 season.’’
Who Is Fabian Ernst?
Born on May 30, 1979 in Hannover, Germany, midfielder Fabian Ernst started his football career with Hannover 96. Between 1998 and 2000, he set foot in German first division and played 48 games for his second club Hamburger SV.
After getting transferred to Werder Bremen in 2001, he started 152 games and scored 11 goals. He was called up to German national team in 2002 and made his debut against Kuwait. In 2005, Ernst signed for Shalke 04 and played in 122 games. The 1.83 m tall experienced player weighs 80 kilos and has won 24 international caps for Germany.
