In TBBL’s Week 14 action, the visiting Bahçeşehir Burhaniye Belediye upsets Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball Team, 71-68, at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena.

Thanks to Dabovic’s hot hand, the Lady Black and White jumped out to an early lead and took a double-digit, 27-16, advantage into second quarter. The visitors tried to erase the deficit in the second with a string of late fast-break buckets by Beachern and Penn but still trailed, 44-40, going into the locker room at the half.
Burhaniye Belediye carried its fast-paced momentum into the third and managed to pull ahead at the 28:00 mark of the quarter on a string of unanswered points. However, Dabovic and Hornbuckle teamed up to knock down back-to-back jumpers to help Beşiktaş Cola Turka regain its lead down the stretch.  The Black and White went on to stretch the margin to 9 points in the dying minutes; but a late spurt by the visitors cut the deficit to three, 62-59, heading into the fourth. Burhaniye Belediyesi’s aggressive defense set the tone early in the final frame, as the Black and White had trouble getting off a clean shot. Bechern’s fast-break basket put the visitors back in front, 67-66, midway through the quarter. From that point, Beşiktaş Cola Turka also tightened up on defense and teams held scoreless until the final 35 seconds. However, clinging to a 69-68 edge, Burhaniye Belediyesi sank a pair of free-throws with 2 seconds remaining on the clock and pulled out a close 71-68 victory.
