Antalyaspor:0 Beşiktaş:2

Bobo strikes twice to lead Beşiktaş past Antalyaspor, 2-0, at Antalya, Atatürk Stadium in their first-leg of the Fortis Turkish Cup Quarterfinal.

Playing on a completely rain-soaked pitch that made ball control extremely difficult, the teams had trouble creating clear-cut chances in the early going. However, as the half progressed, the Black and White began to impose their authority and came close to scoring on couple of occasions but unfortunately could not find the back of the net. But the pressure paid off in the 18th minute when Bobo put Beşiktaş ahead with a neat finish after Antalyaspor defense failed to clear the ball from their 18-yard box. In search of a quick equalizer, the home squad intensified their offensive efforts after the goal; but the Black and White defense would stand firm to send Beşiktaş into the locker room with a 1-0 halftime advantage.
At the onset of the second half, Antalyaspor pushed hard to level the score but was unable to get on the scoreboard; because a couple of low drives by Sedat went inches wide. On the other hand, the home team’s open football gave Beşiktaş a good chance to counterattack quickly. And during one of them, defender Uğur handled the ball inside the box and the Black and White were awarded a penalty shot. Bobo converted coolly from the penalty spot to double the visitors’ lead after 61 minutes. Since neither side managed to score for the remainder of the game, Beşiktaş ran out 2-0 victors and carried a two-goal advantage into second leg, scheduled to take place in Istanbul next week.
