Beşiktaş 1- 3 Ankaraspor

Our Football Team took on Ankaraspor at BJK İnönü Stadium on Machday 14 of the Turkcell Super League and succumbed to a 3-1 defeat.

The Black and White wore black arm bands in memory of Coşkun Ergün, the former Beşiktaş Board and Council Member who passed away recently. A pre-game moment of silence was also observed for late Coşkun Ergün.
The early minutes of the game were mainly in midfield; but after the 15th minute, the visitors launched a series of dangerous attacks, especially from right wing. In one of these attacks, Capital City representatives went ahead, 1-0, on a 19th minute goal by Neca. Beşiktaş rode the blow of conceding an early goal quickly and began pushing more players into attack in search of an equalizer. The tactic paid off in the 41st minute, as unmarked Zapotonocny leveled the score at 1-1 for the home squad with a brilliant drive from close range. Led by Bilal, the stubborn Ankaraspor continued to threaten with quick counter-attacks during the remaining minutes; however, our goalkeeper Rüştü would produce some clutch saves and keep them at bay. The teams entered the locker room for half time tied at 1-1.
The visitors from Ankara managed to carry their fast-paced momentum into the second half and regained the lead on Sivok’s own goal at the 51:00 mark. Beşiktaş turned up the pressure after the goal and had a flurry of chances to level the score but could not find the back of the net. In the 70th minute, Sivok was shown a red card by the referee İlker Meral for an illegal tackle against Weeks and the Black and White were reduced to 10 men on the pitch. From that moment onward, Ankaraspor took complete control of the game and added an insurance goal in the closing stages on their way to a valuable 3-1 away win.
