Our visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball suffered an 80-70 loss to Spanish Halcon Avenida in its 8th Euroleague contest.

The Lady Black and White got off to a fast start and raced out an early lead on a string of unanswered points. Halcon Avenida put together a late surge to climb back into the game; but Beşiktaş Cola Turka was up, 21-17, at the end of the opening quarter. The Spanish ladies carried their momentum into the second frame and leveled the score at 21 two minutes into quarter. Then, the game turned into a seesaw affair with the lead changing hands several ties. The teams were locked in a 35-35 tie at the halftime intermission.
With back-to-back baskets by Willingham and Stampalija, the home squad, Halcon Avenida took complete control in the third and managed to build a 60-50 cushion entering the final quarter. The Black and White pushed hard to narrow the deficit in the fourth; however, playing an aggressive defense, Halcon Avenida would fend off Beşikaş Cola Turka attacks and earned a convincing a 80-70 victory.
