Beşiktaş Cola Turka: 80 - Darüşşafaka Cooper Tires: 47

Our Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball overwhelms visiting Darüşşafaka 80-47 on Matchday 8 of the Beko Basketball League.

Darüşşafaka opened the scoring with Sean Banks’ three-pointer, but Adem Ören drove to the hoop for a layup to answer right back. Then both teams started slipping offensively and came up empty on several occasions. Nevertheless, Adem Ören and Jimmy Baxter combined to hit a pair of running jumpers for the home team and put the Black and White ahead, 6-4, four minutes into the quarter. The visitors came back to tie the score on Sean Banks tip-in but had trouble containing hot-shooting Adem Ören and Dennis Mims who kept penetrating inside. As a result, Beşiktaş Coal Turka opened a 10-6 lead with under 3:00 left in the opening frame. While Darüşşafaka desperately sought to get back into the game, Jimmy Baxter and Dennis Mims continued to pour it on Daçka and stretched the margin to 15-6 entering the final minute. However, the visitors would rattle off 5 straight points in the dying seconds and closed out the first stanza, down only 15-11.
Our Cevher Özer and Darüşşafaka’s Bora Hun Paçun exchanged baskets at the start of the second; as the gap remained intact. Then Cevher Özer unleashed a barrage of three-pointers behind to push the lead to 22-13. Haluk Yıldırm capped the surge with a trey of his own to make it a twelve-point game at 25-13. Daüşşafaka Cooper Tires tried to narrow the deficit with Bora Hun Paçun and Maarten Leunen, but Cevher Özer and Ömer Ünver looked unstoppable; as the gap ballooned to 32-18 midway through the second frame. The Black and White took complete control during remaining minutes and went on to build a comfortable 40-20 cushion by the half.
Clifford Hammonds drilled a three-pointer for the visitors to start the third quarter, but Cevher Özer, this time, teamed up with Muratcan Güler and Jimmy Baxter to extend the lead to a  27 points at 52-25 and blew the game wide open after only 3:30 into the frame. Every time Darüşşafaka Cooper Tires attempted to stage a comeback, Beşiktaş Cola Turka defense would use its size advantage to block the visitors’ shots and prevent them from getting any closer. The Black and White was up 54-27 going into final four minutes. In the closing stages, Barış Hersek and Sean Banks drained back- to-back jumpers for cross-town rivals in an effort to cut down the deficit; but Beşiktaş Cola Turka still held an insurmountable 56-30 advantage after three quarters of play.
Beşiktaş carried its fast-paced momentum into the fourth frame and never looked back in the game; as the trio of Adem Ören, Jimmy Baxter and Dennis Mims padded the home side’s lead to 65-34 at the halfway mark. The Black and White dominated the rest of the way and entered the last minute with an 80-45 cushion. Despite Bora Hun Pacun’s turnaround jumper in the dying seconds, Beşiktaş Cola Turka sailed to an easy 80-47 victory.
