Our Men’s Handball is paired with HIT Innsbruck from Austria in the last 16 of the Challenge Cup.

The draw took place at EHF’s Headquarters in Vienna, Austria. 
If the Black and White succeeds in knocking HIT Innsbruck out of the Challenge Cup, it will qualify for the 8-team quarter finals. The first leg will be played in Istanbul on February 14/15, 2009 while the second leg is scheduled for February 21/22, 2009 in Austria. 
Before qualifying for the last 16, HIT Innsbruck competed in a preliminary group stage -- in which Bursa Nilüfer Belediyesi from Turkey also took part -- and concluded its group stage undefeated and atop its group. Then, despite losing the first leg 31-29, it went on to pick up a well-earned 33-26 victory over formidable Croatian side, RK Porec to advance to last 16 on aggregate.
