Following Beşiktaş’s convincing 2-0 victory over Eskişehirspor, our Technical Director Mustafa Denizli commented on Black and White’s performance:

“All our championship rivals have dropped points this week; however, we should not dwell on the results of the others too much, because if we want to lift that precious cup at the end of the season, we have to win our own games, regardless of what others do.
Eskişehirspor put up a stronger-than-expected resistance tonight. Nevertheless, we played solid defense and managed to restrict them to few chances throughout the entire game. If we can repeat this positive defensive performance in every game, we’ll be able to attain our goals much easier. Eskişehirspor had some dangerous players out there; but we did our homework and took the necessary steps to contain them, before they ever posed any threat against us. We scored two well-timed goals and created many other clear-cut chances but failed to convert them. We always strive to display positive football while we win games. 
We have critical derby coming up against Fenerbahçe next week. I know the meaning of derby games, because I’ve had the pleasure of coaching the top three teams in Turkish football. Fenerbahçe has also a lot of talented players – some of them with well-deserved international reputation. But we are not inferior to them in any way. I would like to reassure our fans from here that we are going to give all we’ve got in Kadiköy and try to win. I am sure it will be an interesting derby to watch; let the best team win.”
