Beşiktaş crush visiting Kocaelispor, 5-2, at BJK Inönü Stadium in the opening game of Turkcell Super League Matchday 10.
Beşiktaş got off to a fast start and tried to take early control with dangerous attacks down the wings, but ironically it was the visitors who would pull ahead. Back-to-back goals scored in the 15th and 16th minutes that came off two wicked Kocaelispor counterattacks put the visiting team 2-0 in front unexpectedly. But the Black and White recovered from the early shock quickly and narrowed the deficit to 2-1 when Nobre headed in Delgado’s 29-minute free-kick from the goal-mouth. Then Beşiktaş applied relentless pressure on Kocaelispor’s defense in search of an equalizer. The pressure would eventually pay off, as Slovakian Holosko slipped one past the visitors’ keeper in the 43rd minute to level the score at 2-2 before the teams headed into the locker rooms.Determined to win at all costs, the Black and White displayed an attacking but risky football in the second half. Despite visitors’ increasing number of counterattacks, Delgado finally turned Beşiktaş’s misery into joy with a superb drive from outside the box in the 67th minute. Before the visitors could figure out what had hit them, Nobre added another from long-range to break the game open and make it 4-2 for the host team. While a solid Beşiktaş defense kept Kocaelispor at bay, Bobo drilled in Beşiktaş’s fifth goal during injury time to give his club a well-earned 5-2 come-from-behind victory. The win increases our Black and White’s point tally to 21.
