Following Beşiktaş’s 1-0 away loss to Kayserispor, our Technical Director made an assessment of the game in a post-game press conference:

“Kayserispor is always a tough team to beat on its home ground. However, today we kept them in check and did not let them create any clear cut chances. Especially in the second half, we controlled the game, controlled the tempo but were unable to find net. Then, they got an unexpected break and ended up scoring.  Unfortunately, these things happen in football.
However, today’s loss will not keep us from going after that league title, because we are liable to drop some points along the way. And this game was definitely one of them.  Sometimes you play well but still cannot win.  I am sure will get chance to make up for this loss in our upcoming matches. Besides, what counts is the final standings. Nevertheless, our fans must be ready for these types of scores, because it is really a tight race out there this year. We’ve already noted our lessons and forgot about this game to focus on our next league match. In short, we want everybody to know that we are moving ahead as planned.”
