Our Technical Director Mustafa Denizli made these comments after Beşiktaş’s 1-1 draw against Sivasspor:

“Sivasspor put out a real fight against us tonight. In addition to a solid defense, they have powerful forwards up front. I congratulate our opponents and -of course their coach Bülent Uygun- for their tireless efforts on the pitch. When you play against these types of well organized teams, you cannot afford to make any mistakes. I believe we played extremely hard tonight but could not manage to turn the score in our favor. Let’s not forget:  this is a long race, and there will be times when we drop points a long the way. This surely is one of them. I also think, tonight, we turned in a much better performance than our last week’s game against Gençlerbirliği. This proves that we are on the right track and getting better every other day. If we want to win the Turkcell Super League title at the end of the season, we need to learn to bounce back from our losses. I was impressed the way both teams rose to the occasion tonight. Although we created more chances; teams worked hard and deserved a draw. I am satisfied with my player’s overall performance and their constant desire to win. Tonight, we could convert the crosses coming from both flanks, but I am sure we’ll get sharper in those situations as the season moves along.”
