Istanbul B.B. 1- 1 Beşiktaş

Our boys in Black and White were held to an unexpected 1-1 draw by cross town rivals, Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi in Day-5 of the Turkcell Super League with lone Beşiktaş goal coming from Filip Holosko in the 4th minute.

The match refereed by Bülent Yıldırım took place at Atatürk Olympic Stadium and a one-minute pre-game silence was observed in memory of our Club Member and popular Writer Kazım Kanat who passed away last week.
Both teams tried to play attacking football right from the start and Adriano almost opened the scoring for the home side in the first minute but his finish from close range off Ibrahim Akın’s cross was disallowed because of an obvious off-side. Soon after, Holosko put the Black and White up 1-0 and the visitors would hold onto that lead until the half time, despite Büyükşehir’s sporadic but dangerous looking attacks which the solid Beşiktaş defense led by Sivok managed to fend off  before they materialized into anything.
The Black and White started the second half a little sloppy and their hosts took advantage.
Adriano stepped up and leveled the score with a header coming off of a well taken free-kick midway through the half. Nobre immediately responded for Beşiktaş and put his club back on top again, but his goal was called off due to a questionable foul against the keeper. Teams pushed hard to gain the upper-hand during the remaining minutes but were unable to convert their chances.  Thanks to referee Bülent Yıldırım’s poor officiating, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
