Beşiktaş 1- 0 Metalist Kharkiv

A Holosko goal in the 51st minute fired Beşiktaş to a 1-0 victory over the Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv in the first leg of UEFA Cup first round.

The match at BJK İnönü Stadium was refereed by Martin Ingvarsson from Swedish Football Federation, while die-hard Beşiktaş fans filled the stands as usual to cheer on their favorite team for the entire game.
The Black and White took control from the opening kick-off and came close to scoring on numerous occasions, but Beşiktaş forwards, obviously having an off day, could not find the back of the net, as the teams headed into the locker room locked in a 0-0 tie.
Beşiktaş exerted more pressure on the visitors in the second half, and Holosko finally turned their frustration into joy in the 51st minute when he put his club ahead, 1-0, with a clever finish. The Black and White’s late substitutions of Serdar Özkan, Bobo and Ekrem Dağ for Nobre, Tello and Delgado did not have much impact on the final outcome of the game, and Beşiktaş emerged 1-0 victory after a hard fought 90 minutes.
The second leg of the first round will take place on October 2 in Ukraine.
