Our visiting Beşiktaş were held to a goalless draw by Trabzonspor at Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium in Week 3 of the Turkcell Super League.

Both sides tried to take control of the midfield in the early going and the first dangerous shot of game came from Trabzonspor, as Serkan’s long-range drive went just wide. With inaccurate passes causing turnovers, neither squad was able to make a breakthrough after the first half hour. But as the half progressed, teams got their act together and started creating chances on both ends. Our boys in Black and White almost broke the deadlock in the 38th minute, but Bobo’s rather hurried finish at the far post, off Tello’s free-kick, failed to produce anything. The teams looked cautious during the remainder of the half and headed into the dressing room locked in scoreless tie.
Trabzonspor raised their tempo in the second half and pushed real hard to get something on the scoreboard, but Beşiktaş looked confident in defense and snuffed out the host team’s attacks before they materialized into anything serious. The Black and White brought on Ekrem Dağ, Ali Tandoğan and Nobre for additional scoring punch down the stretch but was unable to generate any solid scoring chances. Since neither team managed to change the course of the game in the closing stages, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
