Following Beşiktaş’s goalless draw against Trabzonspor, our Technical Director, Ertuğrul Sağlam made these comments regarding the game:

“Tonight, unfortunately we did not get what we came here for. We were hoping to take control the game right from the opening kick-off and walk away with 3 points in the end. Since the things did not work out as the way we had planned, we must be satisfied with the single point we got. Up until now, we have been improving certain aspects of our game in each match we play, but today we have stopped doing so for unknown reasons. My players have to get used to the idea that there are no easy games in this league anymore. Therefore, they’ve got to step up and fight until the final whistle. Tonight, we looked good in defense but except Bobo’s position we failed to create anything serious up front. The link between our defense and forward line was also working tonight.  If we were a bit more careful in the dying minutes and made those final passes properly, the score would’ve been quite different right now.
Late in the game, I brought on striker Nobre to take the pressure off our defense. We wanted him to keep the ball away from our net as far as possible. This tactic paid off and we ended up with a valuable away tie against a formidable side.”
