Our visiting Football Team steals a stunning 3-2 come-from-behind win over Antalyaspor in their 2008-09 season opener with one goal from Delgado (78) and two from Bobo (80, 90).
The match took place at Antalya Atatürk Stadium and refereed by Bünyamin Gezer. The Black and Whites, who stepped on the pitch wearing their traditional striped jerseys, were cheered by a vocal group of Beşiktaş Fans through the entire 90 minutes of play.
Both teams tried to play attacking football in the early going and created several scoring chances at both ends. Antalyaspor got on the scoreboard first with Bienjuk’s 10th-minute goal coming off a corner kick taken from left flank. Beşiktaş regrouped quickly and pushed forward more after the goal in search of an equalizer but could not find the back of the net. Serge Djiehoua doubled home squad’s lead in the 36th minute and Antalyaspor went into halftime break 2-0 ahead.
In the second half, Nobre was brought on for Uğur İnceman for additional scoring power upfront and the Black and Whites pressed real hard from the kick-off to get back into the game. Antalyaspor tried to respond by launching fast counterattacks but Rüştü Reçber produced some brilliant saves and kept them at bay. Delgado took advantage of home team’s defensive mistake in the 78th minute and narrowed the gap to one goal. While Antalyaspor were left reeling in shock from the goal, Bobo redirected a beautiful pass from Holosko two minutes later and leveled the score at 2-2. Serdar Kurtuluş replaced Holosko with five minutes to play to give the Black and Whites more speed in the midfield. In the 90th minute of the game, our Brazilian Star, Bobo dribbled through the entire Antalyaspor defense and slipped by goalkeeper Omer for an easy shot to the open net to put Beşiktaş up 3-2.
The home team made a last-ditch attempt to save the game in injury time, but the Black and Whites sealed their defense and managed to escape with a valuable 3-2 away victory.
