Following our 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Antalyaspor that saw Beşiktaş battle back from a 2-0 first half deficit, our Technical Director Ertuğrul Sağlam made these comments:

“First of all I wish all the best to our opponents for the upcoming season. The excessive humidity and heat as well as the poor pitch hindered both teams’ performance out there tonight. But they showed plentiful courage and played extremely hard until the final whistle. Consequently, the match turned into an exciting contest for everybody. We had clear cut chances in the first half to win this game comfortably, but managed to waste all of them.
During the halftime break, I told my players that if we settled down and play our own game, we would be able turn this game around in the end. We are used to these kinds of games, because we’ve recorded quite a few of come-from-behind victories in the past. Of course they are always extremely stressful and not an enjoyable sight for our fans. Therefore, we have to get our act together and find ways to avoid falling behind early against our opponents. Getting 3 points was the most crucial thing for us tonight.”
