Badminton World Champion, Avni Kertmen, who joined our Physically Disabled Team recently, won another badminton title in Germany.

Born 1961 in Giresun, Avni Kertmen was confined a wheelchair after suffering an occupational accident. Following a brief flirt with basketball in 1988, he started playing badminton in 1996 and captured 3 world titles for Germany. He got transferred to Beşiktaş a couple of months ago.  
 
After underscoring his confidence in Avni, our General Manager of Physically Disabled Branch went on to say, “Avni has won many international badminton championships during his career. I am sure he will continue to grab those titles in Beşiktaş jersey. This transfer proves our strong commitment to place high value on our disabled players.”
