After a convincing 5-1 victory over Vestel Manisaspor made these comments regarding the game:

“First of all, our congratulations go to Galatasaray for winning this year’s League title. I also wish a happy mother’s day to all those mothers out there.
This was a must-win game for us. The results of tonight’s 3 games would decide the third place. Taking into account Sivasspor’s probable win over Gençlerbirliği, we had to score as many goals as possible to improve our goal average. After getting 4 goals in the first 10 minutes, we lost our pace and had to settle for a 5-1. Thanks to a 3-way average, we managed to get qualified for next season’s UEFA cup.
Of course, we are not satisfied with this third place finish, but let’s not forget we were set to go to Intertoto Tournament last week with a fourth place finish. So this result has to be considered as a valuable achievement. We had a very unlucky stretch during the last 7 weeks. If we didn’t drop so many cheap points along the way, we would be in different place by now. The amount of bad calls we received by the referees this season would happen to a team once in 10 years. They surely cost us the title.
 
Nonetheless, we’ve learned a valuable lesson from them. We will take advantage of these experiences and come back much stronger next season.”
