Following 2-0 away win over Ankaragücü, our Technical Director made these comments regarding the game and Beşiktaş’s future plans:

“We needed to win this game at all costs. Thanks to these 3 points, we managed to carry our UEFA Cup hopes into the final week of the regular season. Now, we have to win our last game and await the other results. Unfortunately, the pitch in Ankara is not suitable to play decent football these days and it gets worse when it rains. Since it becomes harder to get the ball under control, teams often display below par performance. Nonetheless, we are extremely delighted for pocketing 3 points without giving our opponent any clear cut chance to score.”
