After the derby with Fenerbahçe, our Technical Director Ertuğrul Sağlam made these comments regarding the game:

“We didn’t get off to a good start and ended up conceding an early goal. We turned the pressure up and pushed for an equalizer for the remainder of the first half but failed to create any clear cut chances.
We looked much better in second half and created some serious chances along the way. After our equalizer, we took control and went after a second one. But an unfortunate defensive mistake allowed them to score the winner. Their sudden goal sent the team into panic and silenced our fans. We had to take risks on defense to get back on level terms, but we couldn’t manage to turn the game around and ended up dropping 3 precious points. Yet we still have 6 more games left to play in this race and our   
To tell the truth, we weren’t expecting to lose this crucial game. Nevertheless, we have 6 more games to play, and we can still win the championship race. But winning all these games will not be sufficient this time because our rivals have to drop points as well. Exactly 2 weeks ago all we had to do was to win our remaining games to stay atop the table. What a difference 2 weeks can make. But football is full of these kinds of surprises.
Let’s not forget that 5 weeks ago Galatasaray lost 1-0 at home to bottom club Kasımpaşa and went on to drop 6 points in 2 weeks. Any team may suffer a major upset at this stage, so we are going to stay in this race until the end of the final 90 minutes without losing hope.’’
