Following Beşiktaş’s convincing 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor, “In addition to my players’ outstanding effort on the pitch, our fans helped us get through the match tonight,” said our Technical Director, Ertuğrul Sağlam.

He went on to make these comments regarding the game:
“It turned out to be an exciting match for both teams. I am sure everybody enjoyed watching the game tonight. We are extremely pleased with the result. Our devoted fans did not stop cheering on our team throughout the entire 90 minutes. They definitely played an important role in our victory tonight. I want to thank them for their continued support. I must also praise my players who put forth a valiant effort even when they were reduced to 10 men on the pitch.
As current league leader, we are well aware of the difficult job lying ahead, but as long as we keep winning our games we’ll remain atop. But we must minimize our mistakes and avoid repeating them in our remaining 8 games. We have to be as sharp as we can out there. It will surely be a difficult 8 weeks for us.
Some critics say that our current position will put intense pressure on us, affecting our performance on the pitch. But every league leading team is subject to some kind of pressure along the way, so it is something new to us. Besides, we’ve been ready for it since the start of the season. Our players have shown no signs of it so far. I don’t think it will affect us in a negative way.”
