Following Beşiktaş’s 2-1 injury-time win in Ankara, our Technical Director Ertuğrul Sağlam made these comments: 

“Our opponent was one of the League’s fastest teams who never stopped running until the final whistle. Therefore, coming into the game, we knew it would not be an easy game for us. But if we want to finish first at the end of the season, we have to adjust our game, so we can beat anybody out there. We’ve got to find a way to make our resistance visible throughout the entire 90 minutes and work on our weaknesses.   
I am not satisfied with our first-half performance. We didn’t play our usual attacking game. We were sluggish, not communicating and turned the ball over too many times. The poor pitch also hindered our ball control. But we had a much better second half. We created more chances and didn’t lose our game discipline even conceding a goal. We went after the ball until the final whistle and definitely earned this win. 
“Getting that precious 3 points was very important us tonight. We had to show everyone that we deserved to remain in the first place and had no intention of giving it up easily. It took a lot of extra effort to get here. We’ve been in this race for 4 seasons and nobody is going to overtake us in the standings without a fight. We also know that our fans are expecting us to win the championship this year, which means that we have a great responsibility to make them happy at the end of the season.”
