After Beşiktaş’s precious victory against Galatasaray our players Gökhan Zan, Ali Tandoğan, Delgado and Nobre made these comments regarding the game: 

Gökhan Zan: “I didn’t want to leave my team mates alone in a crucial derby. We put out an outstanding performance out there and deserved to win. Since we kept applying pressure up front, our defense had no trouble withstanding their attacks. Ibrahim Toraman really helped us out in a couple of potentially dangerous situations. We are all delighted with this derby victory, but we have to win our remaining games as well because it is an extremely tight race. We have another critical match coming up next week. If we want to finish first at the end of the season, we have to perform the same way we did today until the last game.”
Ali Tandoğan: “Our fans expectations and not being a league leader for a long time have put a lot pressure on us before the game. But we managed to keep our composure on the pitch. We weathered that early storm and gained our confidence back after the goal. Today, winning was more important than our overall performance. There are games you outclass your opponent out there but still come up empty-handed. It seems we finally learned to succeed under any condition.”
Delgado: “We stepped on the pitch thinking that if we won tonight, it would be new ball game for us. Both teams tried hard not to fall behind but we ran out the winners at the end. Now, we must work harder than before to remain at the top.”
Nobre: “I am extremely delighted that I scored in this crucial match. But more important, we are the league leaders right now. Therefore, we have to work twice as hard to stay up there. We have 10 games left to play. We must be up and ready for each on of them.”
