Our Football Team grabbed a valuable 2-1 road win over Denizlispor in week 23 of the Turkcell Super League with first half goals from Holosko (31’) and Nobre (33’). Ali Tandoğan was sent to an early shower by the referee after receiving his second yellow card in the 62nd minute.
The game was played at Denizli Atatürk Stadium and refereed by M. Kamil Abitoglu. A small but vocal Beşiktaş crowd cheered for their favorite throughout the game. The Black and Whites displayed their attacking intent from the opening whistle, as a 3rd minute header by Nobre went just wide off the target. But Beşiktaş’s early pressure would soon pay off when Holosko’s header put the visitors a goal up in the 31st minute. Two minutes later, Nobre netted another and gave Beşiktaş a 2-0 lead before the teams headed into their locker rooms at the half.
At start of the second half, Denizlispor pushed hard for a quick goal to get back into the game but the Black and Whites sealed their defense and withstood all comeback attempts by the hosts. After Ali Tandoğan grabbed his second yellow card in the 62nd minute, Beşiktaş had to carry on shorthanded. Following the 71st minute substitution of Aydın Karabulut for Ricardinho, the home side pulled one goal back and made it 2-1 with a clever drive by Serhat in the 81st minute. The late substitutions of İbrahim Kaş and Batuhan Karadeniz for Tello and Nobre would not change the scoreboard in the remaining minutes, as Beşiktaş escaped with a 2-1 victory and pocketed another valuable 3 points.
