Players’ Post-Game Comments

After our 2-1 away win against Denizlispor, second goal scorer Nobre, injured Gökhan who finished with a dislocated shoulder, team captain İbrahim Üzülmez and our ejected player, Ali Tandoğan made these comments:

Nobre: “This was a must-win game for us. If you want to win the championship race, you have to win your away games as well. In the second half, we relaxed too soon and gave away too many positions. Naturally, they ended up scoring. We unfortunately couldn’t carry the first half’s momentum into second half.”

Gökhan Zan: “I got an elbow in my face. I may have a broken nose. I also had a dislocated shoulder during the game. But they managed to put it back. I am glad I was able to finish the game. There are 10 teams fighting to avoid relegation. And 4 teams at the top are locked in a tight race for the first place. Therefore, from now on, there are no easy games left. We have to play harder and try to win our remaining games. It will be great to put together a winning streak down the stretch.”

İbrahim Üzülmez: “After we were reduced to 10 men, they turned to long-balls and it made difficult for us. Due to the lack of communication between me and goalkeeper Rüştü we let in an easy goal. We have to pull our act together and start playing better defense. We previously had a 6-game winning streak. I hope will be able to repeat it in our future games.”

Ali Tandoğan: “As an experienced player, I congratulated all my team mates after the game. I shouldn’t have left them shorthanded on the pitch. A was so sad after we conceded the goal. This was my mistake, I disappointed our fans. Although, my yellow cards were rather harsh, I want to apologize to everyone.”
