Darüşşafaka:59 – Beşiktaş Cola Turka:79

Visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka rolls over Darüşşafaka, 79-59, at Ayhan Şahenk Sports Hall in week 21of the Beko Basketball League.

The host Darüşşafaka got off to a flying start and jumped out to a 12-5 lead midway through the quarter with consecutive baskets from all over the court. But Beşiktaş Cola Turka rallied back to cut deficit to 12-11 in the next 2 two minutes and grabbed a 16-15 edge entering the final minute thanks to several uncontested lay-ups. Playing solid defense, the Black and Whites did not let their opponents get a clean look at the basket in the closing seconds and led 18-15 at the end of opening quarter.
Despite back-to-back jumpers by Shumpert early in the second, the stubborn Darüşşafaka refused to surrender and managed to hit a number of clutch shots that put them back in front at the half way mark. Undeterred by the lack of scoring, the Black and Whites fought back with a rally of their own and built a 32-28 advantage going into the locker room at the half.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka took control of the game the second half and began to stretch their lead on consecutive buckets by Sinan Güler and Shumpert. Severely out-rebounded on both ends of the floor, the host team could not display the chemistry of the previous half and trailed 56-42 after three quarters of play.
Ending their early shooting woes, our Black and Whites went on dominate the fourth quarter and would never look back. They refused to show any mercy to their hosts down the stretch, as they raced to an insurmountable 75-59 lead with a minute showing on the clock en route to a lopsided 79-59 final victory.
