In a Week 14 contest of Turkish Handball Super League, our handball team suffered a 30-22 defeat to Milli Piyango.
The teams remained within striking distance in the first 5 minutes. But backed by solid defense and efficient offense, the host team opened up a sizeable gap by the end of the first half. Suffering from the absence of their injured star player Valeri, the Black and Whites couldn’t find a way to stop hot-shooting Okan and despite a valiant effort by Tesic, trailed 18-10 before heading into the locker at halftime.Beşiktaş pushed hard to get back into game in the second half and pulled within 4 at the 35th-minute mark. But from that moment on, Milli Piyango tightened its defense and prevented the Black and Whites from scoring. Due to a series of penalties Beşiktaş had to play the final 7 minutes with only 3 men on the court and turned to its bench as a last resort. But the mighty Milli Piyango prevailed in the end with a 30-22 victory.
