Beşiktaş Cola Turka:78 – Panküp TED Kayseri:53

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball Team downed the visiting Panküp TED Kayseri, 78-53, at BJK Akatlar Cola Turka Arena.

Our Lady Black and Whites stormed out of the gate behind Lovelace’s consecutive buckets and ran up a 6-0 run before the game was 3 1/2 minutes old. Kayseri Kolejliler, who kept coming back with unbalanced attacks, tried hard to stay within striking distance, but a solid Beşiktaş Cola Turka defense would prevent them from getting an open look at the basket. Meanwhile, the Black and Whites took advantage of their opponents’ slow defense and stretched their lead to 20-5 on fast-breaks with 3 minutes left on the clock. Despite giving up a pair of baskets in the dying minutes, they held a 20-9 cushion at the end of first quarter which they virtually dominated from the opening tip-off.
The visitors came on strong in the second and began to chip away at the deficit with back-to-back free throws. Then they rallied behind a string of 3-pointers to claw their way back into the game. But their comeback attempt would not last too long because Beşiktaş Cola Turka regrouped quickly and increased its lead to 20 points, 36-16, on jumpers by Lovelace and Hayden midway through the quarter. Despite a late charge that cut the margin to 15 points, Black and Whites carried a 50-31 edge into their locker room at the half.
Sitting on a comfortable cushion, our Ladies continued to shine in the third, as they kept hitting shots from allover the court. Riding Lovelace’s hot hand, they out-rebounded their visitors from Kayseri City at both ends and forced them to commit turnovers. Unable to receive any scoring from its foreign players, Panküp TED Kayseri trailed, 67-40, going into the final quarter.
Our Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball, who never looked back in the game, continued to play exhibition-basketball in the fourth and opened up an insurmountable 30 points lead en route to a lopsided 78-53 victory.
