First Interview with Schildenfeld

Our new transfer Gordon Schildenfeld gave his first interview to BJK TV. Stating that his carrier is on an upward trend, “I would like to maintain this trend by helping Beşiktaş achieve its goals,” said Schildenfeld.

The ex-Dinamo Zagreb player added: “My transfer proceedings were completed in a very short time. The atmosphere here is great. The facilities are also very good, even perfect. Although I am here only a short period of time, leaving aside the traffic, I can say that compared to Zagreb, Istanbul is a fantastic city.”
Underling the fact that he is a good professional, the Croatian defense player continued: “For this very reason, I don’t think I will have any adaptation problem. Beşiktaş has a solid team and is well-known in Europe. I had a chance to follow its games in the Champions League this season. Besides, I also know the Turkish football and players very well. We also have good teams in Croatia, but compared to our league, Turkcell Super League is more formidable and has a higher quality.”
Referring to our recent Fortis Turkish Cup quarter finals first leg against Rizespor which he watched on TV, “We were very unlucky in that game. But we can reverse that loss in the second leg and we have the means to do it. I believe with my addition, Beşiktaş’s defense will be much stronger,” Gordon Schildenfeld said.
He continued: “My carrier has been on an upward trend lately. I would like to maintain this trend by helping Beşiktaş achieve all its goals. Because of my age, I will not take part in the Croatian Under-21 team any more, but I hope to be one of the indispensable players of Croatian national team in near future. Of course, it all depends on my performance here.”
In relation to Beşiktaş’s championship race, he added: “Currently, there is only a 2 points difference between us and the leader but we will play the top two contenders on our home ground. I have no doubt that we will make use of this advantage and beat both of them at home to capture the first place.”
Schindelfeld ended the interview by saying: “I watched Beşiktaş’s Champions League game against Liverpool in Istanbul on both TV and Internet. The fan show at Inönu Stadium could be easily described in one word, ‘absolutely fabulous’.”
