Our Wheelchair Basketball Team pulled off an 81-72 OT victory over visiting İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi in a season opener after playing to 67-67 tie in regulation time.

The game took place at Süleyman Seba Sports Saloon in front of a small but vocal Beşiktaş crowd who cheered their team on throughout the entire 40 minutes.
Teams traded baskets in the early going until the visitors from İzmir city took charge and carried an 18-14 lead into the second quarter. While İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi continued its dominant play, our Black and Whites could not overcome their defensive woes and trailed 39-25 at the end of the first half.
However it was a different ball game in the third as our team found its offensive rhythm and poured in 26 points against its opponents 12 to tie it up at 51-51 after three quarters of play. Both teams scored 16 points each in the hotly contested fourth quarter and the game went into overtime with a 67-67 tie.
Outclassing their opponents, the Black and Whites tightened their defense and started taking better shots in the extra time en route to a convincing 81-72 victory. With this valuable win our Wheelchair Basketball Team made a bright start into the new season and will take on İstanbul Dostlukspor in the second week of the League.
