Our Technical Director, Ertuğrul Sağlam said despite poor weather and pitch conditions Beşiktaş played good football and deserved to win.

Mr. Sağlam went on to make these comments regarding the match:
“The freezing cold weather and icy pitch made it extremely difficulty to display good football. Naturally, these poor conditions affected our overall performance. But our players did the best they could and created a flurry of chances. Therefore, we must congratulate them on their effort. Not too many teams can perform so well on these types of pitches. We again wasted 7-8 good chances, but this time we were real unlucky in some of them. As long as we keep getting these chances, one day we will break our bad luck and score a lot of goals.
We truly deserved to win today. We created more chances and played solid football from start to finish. I’m sure everybody enjoyed our performance. It is always nice to win with a last minute goal, but we definitely fought hard to earn that goal.
It is difficult to beat Konyaspor here in these conditions. The icy pitch gives them a significant advantage over the visiting team and they are trying to use it all over the field. But today, we managed to take control from the start and defeat them on their home turf.”
