Beşiktaş Cola Turka:77 Burhaniye Belediyesi:67

Our Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Team hosted Burhaniye Belediyesi at BJK Cola Turka Arena in its last league game before the winter break and walked away with a 77-67 victory.

The teams traded baskets in the game until the Lady Black and Whites rallied to take control behind jumpers by Dilel Ünüvar and Spiric midway through the opening quarter. But Beşiktaş Cola Turka was unable open up a sizeable lead due to poor defense. On the other hand, the representatives from Burhaniye took advantage of their hosts’ defensive woes and had no trouble scoring easy baskets. However, the visitors began to falter in the closing stage as Black and Whites pulled ahead, 20-14, going into final 2 minutes. Then Beşiktaş Cola Turka out-rebounded its opponent en route to a comfortable 29-14 first quarter lead.
Despite Burhaniye’s full-court pressure, Lady Black and Whites continued to shine in the second. But, as the quarter progressed, the visitors began to make its presence felt and managed to reduce the deficit to 11 points on fast-break baskets with 3 minutes remaining in the quarter. Nevertheless, Lovelace stepped up and helped the host team carry a 42-31 cushion into the locker room at the half.
In an evenly matched third quarter, while Burhaniye Belediyesi pushed hard to narrow the gap, Beşiktaş Cola Turka tried to hold onto the lead with a tightened defense. But, in the dying minutes, the visitors put together a flurry of threes that trimmed their deficit to single digits. Unable to respond to their opponents’ late surge, the Lady Black and Whites saw their once comfortable lead cut to 58-53 by the end of the quarter. 
However, it was a different ball game in the fourth, as Beşiktaş Cola Turka surged ahead with consecutive baskets and free throws and extended its advantage to 70-57 midway through the final period of play. Enjoying a productive outing from the trio of Lovelace, Dilek Ünüvar and Spiric, the Black and Whites forced their visitors into a series of turnovers with their solid defensive performance and then turned the game in their during the remaining minutes to sail to a 77-67 victory.
The top scorer for Black and Whites was Dilek Ünüvar with 18 points, who also nailed a three pointer in the last second from beyond the mid-court. Lovelace (17), Spiric (13), Nazlı Güler (8), Korana Zanze (7), Nilay Yiğit (7), Esra Erden (5) and Sanem Gamze Zeren (2) all contributed to the offensive effort of the Black and White team.
