Our Women’s Volleyball suffered a 3-1 loss to visiting Fenerbahçe Acıbadem at BJK cola Arena in the 7th week of the League.

The opening set of the derby started off with both teams exchanging points at the net until the visitors took control and opened a 4 point lead. The Lady Black and Whites came back to tie it up at 7 behind powerful aces and spikes from the corners but Fenerbahçe still managed to hold onto a 8-7 edge at the first technical timeout. While Yağmur and Bouagaa kept Beşiktaş in the game, visitors ripped off points on triple-blocks and were up 16-14 at the second technical. Despite putting on constant pressure on their opponents, our ladies could not pull way from Fenerbahçe and dropped the opening set 25-22.

Showing early strength in the second set, Beşiktaş jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and continued to hold an 8-6 advantage at the first technical timeout. Fenerbahçe tried to trim the deficit but began making unforced errors and trailed 16-12 at the second technical. Not repeating the mistakes of the previous set, Lady Black and Whites tightened their defense and went on to take the second set 25-21 that made it 1-1 after two sets.
At the start of the third set, Fenerbahçe Acıbadem began to dominate the game with powerful kills from the corners. An outstanding offensive performance by Yağmur kept Beşiktaş within reach, but Black and Whites had to play catch-up most of the way and trailed at both technical timeouts. Fenerbahçe withstood a late rally from our ladies and won the set 25-22 to surge ahead, 2-1 in the game.
The fourth set was hotly contested from the opening serve, but the visitors continued their dominant play to take the set 25-21 and the tight match 3-1.
