Following Beşiktaş’s win against Vestel Manispor, our Technical Director, Ertuğrul Sağlam made these comments regarding the match:

“It is important to create chances up front, but they do not count if you can’t convert them. We wasted a flurry of chances but still came out the winners at the end. Our in inability to make those finishing touches didn’t penalize us today. Nevertheless, we did well in all other departments and deserved to win. We have to work on those finishing touches. It was important to win in our last game. If our rivals drop points this week, we may even move up in the standings. This away win also boosted our morale before the midseason break. 
During the first half of the season, there were times we played excellent football. But due to a tight schedule, we couldn’t string together back- to- back wins. A team can not get rid of its old habits over a 3-4 months span. Some of our players have reached top form but we still have a long way to go as a team. It is not easy to play in Champions and Turkcell Super Leagues at same time and get consistent results game after game. In addition to these, we dropped some valuable points because of bad refereeing. If we didn’t lose those points, we would be sitting at the top of standings by now.”
