Delgado’s 82nd-minute goal gave Beşiktaş a 1-0 road victory over Bursaspor in the 15th week of the Turkcell Super League.
Due to a decision by the host team management, while our fans were not admitted into Bursa Atatürk Stadium, our President and Management watched the game from the empty stands where our fans were supposed to sit. In protest, Beşiktaş stepped on the field with a banner addressed to our fans which said, “Your Soul Is Enough.”The game refereed by Yunus Yıldırım got under way with Beşiktaş’s kickoff. During the early going of the first half both teams played a fast-paced football, and Black and Whites tried to create chances up front with dangerous attacks that switched from wing to wing. Visitors gradually managed to disrupt their opponent’s passing in midfield, and staged fast breaks that forced Bursaspor to play a more defensive game. Since neither side was able to change the scoreboard, they were locked in goalless draw before heading to their dressing rooms at the half.
In the opening minutes of the second half, both teams increased their tempo for a chance to go ahead. Beşiktaş brought in Burak Yılmaz for Hiquain in the 63rd minute to provide additional scoring punch. However, contrary to the first half, Bursaspor began to take more control of the ball while the Black and White team suddenly had trouble finding its offensive rhythm. In the late stages of the game it seemed as though Black and Whites would have to settle for a point. But Beşiktaş roared back to life when Delgado took a superb pass from Serdar Özkan, and buried it into Bursaspor net to put his team ahead, 1-0, with only 8 minutes to play. Beşiktaş made two late substitutions and replaced Delgado and Tello with Koray Avcı and Mehmet Sedef to protect its lead. This strategy paid off as the Black Eagle finished the game with a dramatic 1-0 away victory.
