Banvit:59 – Beşiktaş Cola Turka:67

Our Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team captured a 67-59 road victory over Banvit in the 9th week of the League.

Getting off to a fine start, Black and Whites capitalized on its opponent’s turnovers and raced out to an early 10-4 lead after the first 4,5 minutes of the play. Out-rebounding Banvit under its own board, Beşiktaş Coal Turka, first opened a 16-4 gap behind consecutive points by Murat Güler and then went on to close quarter with a 22-7 lead.
Banvit came on strong in second and ran off 11 unanswered points in 3 minutes to trim the deficit to 22-18. But, from that moment on Black and Whites sealed their defense and prevented Banvit from getting anything going offensively. A string of baskets by Dalmau and Nicevic helped Beşiktaş Cola Turka increase its advantage to 38-21 before heading to its locker room at the half-time break.
Black and Whites started off the third with a couple of jumpers from Murat Güler and built a 19 point gap at 42-23 in the early going. But the home team rallied back and pulled within 48-43 at the end of third quarter. 
Banvit opened the final quarter with a 3-pointer by Ümit Sonkol and cut the deficit even further. But Beşiktaş Cola Turka took advantage of its opponent’s costly turnovers and managed to hold onto a 8 point lead midway through the quarter. Refusing to get caught, Black and Whites easily withstood a late comeback by Banvit to emerge with a valuable 67-59 road win at the end.
