Visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball Team edged past Serbian ZKK Vojvodina 77-74 in its 4th FIBA Group A game.
The hotly contested game staged thrilling moments from start to finish. The home team got off to a fast start and thanks to a more effective overall performance, jumped out a 26-16 lead at the end of first quarter.Vojvodina carried its momentum into second quarter and increased the deficit to 12 points on consecutive baskets within the first 5 minutes. But Beşiktaş Cola Turka bounced back and began chipping away at the lead midway through the quarter. A tightened defense helped visitors pull level at 35-35 with a minute to play. And then the Lady Black and Whites took the lead on Seda Erdoğan’s 3-pointer and nursed a slim 38-35 edge before going to their locker room at the break.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka continued to play solid defense in the second half and held a 59-58 edge after three quarters of play. The hot-shooting Ladies opened a 10 point gap in the final quarter and never looked back. Our Black and Whites walked way with a hard fought 77-74 victory and recorded their 3rd win in the group.
In the other game of our group, visiting Panionios defeated BC Zeljeznicar 67-65.
