Aziz Akkaya: “After losing three group games in row, it is not easy to get back into contention again. As you know, Zanze broke her hand and Spiric sustained a serious knee injury. Starting off without our foreign key players we trailed by 15 points at some time in the game. But we managed to seal our defense and win the game. An easy game on paper turned into a tough contest. All our players contributed greatly towards our win today and I congratulate each one of them on their valiant effort. Now, we want to win all of our games and to play a semi-final in FIBA. We also aim the be the champion of the league.”
Ayşe Dilek Ünüvar: “We are all pleased with the win. Today, we played well as a team. This win will surely relive the pain of our recent losses.”
Nazlı Güler: “I cannot say that we got off to a good start. But we managed to erase the 15 point deficit and take the lead. From that moment on it was one way affair and we never looked back. The officiating in the away matches did not meet the European standards but we are all pleased to run away with a valuable victory.”
