After posting a 25-21 win at home, our handball team lost the second leg 24-20 to RK Osijek Elektromodul in the third round of EHF Cup. Despite having the same overall average, our handballers who scored one away goal less than their Croatian opponents were eliminated from the Cup on away goals rule.
Starting the second leg with a 4 goal advantage, Beşiktaş put up a strong fight during the early going and closed the half in a 11-11 tie. But Black and Whites could not display their usual offensive performance in the second half and suffered a heartbreaking 24-20 loss to their hosts in the end.As the teams were now level 25-25 on aggregate, the team which scored the most away goal qualified for the next round according to EHF cup status. Since the Croatian team managed to score 21 away goals against our 20, it went on to play in the next stage with only a single goal advantage.
