They improved their blocking while Yağmur’s kills in the corners helped them take an 8-4 lead at the first technical timeout. But Vakıbank Bank slowed Beşiktaş’s offense down with triple-blocks and put together a run of their own with 5 consecutive points to pull ahead 9-8. Despite a series of simple errors, Black and Whites rode Yağmur’s scoring and held a slim 16-15 advantage at the second technical timeout. During the remainder of the set, Beşiktaş made use of an excellent blocking from Roll and Arzu while Yagmur and Bouagaa continued to hit point-ending spikes to take the set 25-23 and make it 2-0 for the home team.
Visiting Vakıfbank Güneş Sigorta made its presence felt in the third set and went into the technical timeouts leading 8-4 and 16-9. When they reached 20 points, our team finally woke up and crawled to within 4 but could not close the gap. The visitors won the set 25-18 and brought the score to 2-1.
