Following the victory over Efes Pilsen our Head Coach Ergin Ataman made these comments regarding the game:

‘‘If the things go according to our plan, we will definitely finish first this year. We soundly defeated Efes Pilsen today. We took the control from the start and never looked back. I must also congratulate my players on their solid defensive performance that disturbed our opponent’s offensive rhythm throughout the game. We had trouble hitting baskets early in the game and couldn’t take advantage of some open shots. If we knocked them down the score would be much different. Nevertheless, including our European games, we won seven games in a row and we want to keep this streak going or along time. As I told at the start of the season, we have good quality players who can help us achieve our goals.”
Ergin Ataman did not forget to thank those Black and White fans who provided much needed moral support and continued:
“We made an announcement ahead of the game and invited all our fans to this derby. It is nice to see that they responded well. Today they also showed their true colors and what it takes to be a hundred percent Beşiktaş fan.
As you all saw, we have a very active group of fans. I am sure their numbers will grow in coming weeks. I also have no doubt that together with their continuous support we will pull off many other victories such as this one and become champions at the end of the season.’’
Ataman finished his comments by saying, ‘‘we are executing a very smart strategy and all our players got used to this new system. Now I our fans can sit back and enjoy their team for the rest of the season.’’
Kaya Peker,who finished the game with 22 points  and played an important part in Beşiktaş Cola Turka’s win made this assessment related to the game:
‘‘If we converted our first quarter shots, we could have jumped out to an earlier lead and post a victory with a bigger margin. Efes Pilsen is a strong side but we are stronger than them. Even if we lost this game it wouldn’t change this picture. I would like to thank our fans who didn’t leave us alone today. Right now we have an excellent atmosphere in our team. We are all thirsty for success. Everybody is working with utmost self-sacrifice so there is no reason why we shouldn’t be successful this year.’’
