Beşiktaş Cola Turka: 79 – Köln 99ers: 60

In its second ULEB Cup Group B game Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team trounced visiting Köln 99ers 79-60, and made it two in row.

After pulling off an 87-79 away victory against BK Ventspils in its Group B opener, Beşiktaş Cola Turka took another step towards qualification.
In their second test, Black And Whites hosted German Köln 99ers at BJK Cola Turka Arena and recorded their second consecutive win.
Getting off to a good start, Beşiktaş Cola Turka jumped out to a 9-2 early lead with Nicevic, Dalmau and Shumpert’s baskets at the 3-minute mark. But back-to back points from İdbihi, Mcelroy and Bailey helped visiting Köln 99ers come back and tie it up at 11-11. Nevertheless, the hot hands of Kaya Peker and Apodaca under the hoop put Beşiktaş Cola Turka ahead, 23-18 at the end the first quarter.
Black and Whites managed to carry their momentum into the second quarter. And thanks to baskets by Kaya, Shumpert and Nicevic, opened up a 14 point lead at 40-26 with three minutes to play in the half.  Bailey and Sinanovic responded with close-range jumpers to trim the deficit down. But Beşiktaş Cola Turka took advantage of its opponent’s weak defense and costly turnovers to grab a comfortable 44-31 edge going into its locker room at the half.
Our Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball team looked even more formidable in the second half and a furious rally from Dalmau and Shumpert enabled them to extend their advantage to 16 points at 50-34 with seven minutes left. Timely baskets by Nicevic, Kaya peker and Shumbert helped Black and Whites dominate the game completely as they took a 60-44 lead into the final quarter and never looked back.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka continued to play impressive basketball in the fourth and in addition to Dalmau and Nicevic’s baskets under the hoop, got long-range 3-pointers from Cevher and Shumpert to widen the gap to a huge 22 points at 75-53 with only a minute left to play. Our Black and Whites walked off the floor with an easy 79-60 victory in the end.
