Beşiktaş:1 – Sivasspor. 2

Our Black and Whites suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of visiting Sivasspor in the 12th week of the Turkcell Super League. While our lone goal came from Bobo at the 28-minute mark, Sivasspor’s Balili (52th min.) and our İbrahim Toraman (56th min.) were both sent off with red cards.

The game was refereed by Bünyamin Gezer and played under the wet field conditions of BJK İnönü Stadium due to heavy rain. After Beşiktaş’s kick-off, the match fell relative quite for 20 minutes as a seesaw battle for the midfield pushed onward. But the Black and White team eventually took control and jumped out to a 1-0 lead with Bobo’s 28th-minute diving header coming off a perfect Higuain cross. During the remainder of the half, Beşiktaş kept constant pressure on its opponent’s defense and did not allow visitor’s forwards stage any threatening attacks. Despite a flurry of chances, home side could not increase its tally and had to settle for a one-goal edge at the break.
The Black Eagle started off the second hall without making any substitution and inside the 52nd minute, Sivasspor’s Balili was justly ejected from the game following a cruel tackle to İbrahim Toraman. Unfortunately, this one-man advantage would turn out to be short-lived because referee Bünyamin Gezer sent off İbrahim Toraman with a rather harsh red card only 4 minutes later. On the ensuing free-kick Muhammed Ali leveled the score at 1-1. Beşiktaş brought on Diatta (60th min.), Mehmet Yozgatlı (75th min.) and Nobre (80th min.) to regain the lead but an unexpected 83-minute goal by reserve Gurbanov put the visitors on top. Despite last-minute efforts by Beşiktaş to equalize the game, visitors still managed to walk away with a valuable 2-1 victory.
