In his statement, Beşiktaş Football Captain Ibrahim Üzülmez expressed his feelings regarding the outcome of the match with Liverpool, saying, “We apologize to our organization and all of our supporters for our disappointing performance.”

Üzülmez stated that Beşiktaş’s humiliating defeat is being felt by the entire football team, and added, “All of us, as a team, are very sad.  We are ashamed tonight that we have been the cause of deep disappointment for fans, supporters and the entire Beşiktaş organization.  We pledge that after the match with Sivasspor, we will make up for our mistakes and work very hard so that none of us will ever have to experience this kind of disappointment again.”
