‘‘We Were Sacrificed!’’

After revealing that Beşiktaş always defended referees in the past regardless of their bad calls but this last one was too hard to swallow, Our General Secretary Kenan Öner added:

‘‘Today we played extremely well but allowed two unlucky goals. On the other hand, everybody saw what happened during the first half an hour. No team can be expected to perform well when so many bad calls are going against it.  In the 70th minute, the ref did not have the guts to send Deivid off despite his blatant foul which definitely deserved a second yellow. And then while our players were celebrating, he cancelled our good goal for no reason. The refereeing in this game was horrible throughout. He surely was scared of the Fenerbahçe management and home crowd. Fenerbahçe has habit of exerting pressure on referees through its friends in media before every crucial game. As a consequence we often end up being the victim. If the federation has already decided the new champion, we are going to play with our youth team. There is no need to spend so much time and energy if it is a bygone conclusion.’’
